- Hello, I'm Tim Grey, a trainer for video2brain, and author of the Ask Tim Grey email newsletter. I've spent the last 15 years writing books and magazine articles, speaking at events, producing video training titles, and much more. All aimed at helping photographers improve their photographic images. Photography is in large part about preserving memories. Whether that memory is of an important event, a fascinating experience, or just a beautiful sunset, we want our images to look their best. If you've ever felt the least bit intimidated by digital photography, this course is for you.
I'm going to provide you with a wide variety of quick techniques that will enable you to make the most of your digital photos with minimal effort. I'll start by giving you an overview of Photoshop Elements. I'll guide you through some of the basic organisational features, show you how to work with your photos, and provide an introduction to the Elements interface. In short, together we'll explore the basics to help ensure you have the knowledge you need to apply the remaining lessons. I'll then explore some of the most common issues relating to lighting. You'll learn how to deal with images that are too bright, too dark, have too much contrast, or otherwise could use a lighting touch up.
Then we'll take a look at color issues, such as inaccurate color, flat color, oversaturated color, and more. Next, we'll take a look at some quick and easy ways to remove various blemishes from your photos. From red-eye, to wrinkles, to objects you wish you could have moved before you clicked the shutter, you'll see how to use the best tools and techniques for image clean up. Finally, we'll examine some of the more sophisticated ways you can improve the appearance of your photos. This will include reducing the range of focus to highlight a key subject, replacing a sky that is too bright or just plain boring, and other cool tricks.
Along the way you'll gain a lot of knowledge, and I think you'll have a lot of fun too. So join me as we work together to help you make the most of your important photographic memories. Let's get started.
