Removing content with the Clone Stamp tool

One of the things people ask me about all the time is how do I remove an old boyfriend or a lamppost or a hair or some other content for an image? Well, sometimes you can do that using the Healing Brush tool or the Spot Healing Brush tool that I covered in an earlier movie. But sometimes those tools aren't strong enough for the task, because what they do is attempt to blend in the cover- up pixels with the image below, and sometimes the image below will just show through in a way that doesn't completely eliminate content.

If you find that to be the case, give the Clone Stamp tool a try. I'm going to select the Clone Stamp tool in the toolbar, and then I'm going to go over to the layers panel, and I am going to make a new layer on which to use the Clone Stamp tool, by clicking the Create New layer button at the bottom of the layers panel.
