Playing a clip backward

OK, I'm using the Backwards project from the Chapter 4 folder to talk to you briefly about playing a clip backwards. You do this in a very similar way to adjusting the clip's duration and speed that we looked at in the last movie. So what we're going to do is go over to the Timeline here, and select our video clip, go to the Clip menu at the top of the screen and select Time Stretch. All you have to do for this is to select Reverse Speed and hit OK. Looks like nothing has happened, but really the clip then plays in reverse.

So we have these dogs backing up and walking backwards through this loop which is hilarious. So remember that if you need to, you can hit the Enter key on your keyboard and render this footage so that it plays back more smoothly and cleanly. The way to tell that you need to render the footage is there is this red line right here. Once it's rendered and cached and will playback smoothly, then that line will turn green. We won't take the time to do that now...
