Adding captions and notes

An important part of photo restoration that often gets overlooked by the family historian is the inclusion of historical data. The little details of who's in the picture and what's happening that will get lost down the road and nobody knows who that is. How do you attach historical data to a photograph? We use to type out the information and make a copy of it with the photo to put in our records or heaven forbid we'd write on the back of the photograph itself. But with the millions of electronic copies of photos being passed around the Internet today that no longer works very well.

You can however attach information to a photo electronically in the form of metadata, or as it's known in the Elements organizer, captions and notes. Still in the Organizer workspace, we will select this photo and go up to Window and Properties and here you have a space to make all your notes and a caption.
