Setting up sharing with Apple TV
- Apple has created a technology called AirPlay that allows Mac and iOS devices to wirelessly share their screens with an Apple TV. If you or your students have Apple devices, then this can be an effective and very reliable way to share your screens with the main display in the classroom. Here's what you'll need to add this capability to nearly any classroom, an Apple TV, third generation or newer, wired or wireless network access, and the ability to project through HDMI or VGA to the main screen. First, let's talk about how to hook this up. Most classrooms have the ability to connect a laptop to the classroom projector. If that connection is HDMI, then you can plug directly into the Apple TV. If the connection is the more common VGA, then you may need an HDMI to VGA adapter. Next, if you can plug into the wired network, plug the network wire into the back of your Apple TV.
