- [Voiceover] A Learning Management System is a collection of web based tools designed to support teaching and learning. There are many to choose from and nearly every campus has adopted at least one. Modeled after a traditional face-to-face classroom, most offer common tools for distributing information out to students, collecting information and assignments from students, and allowing for some level of interactivity all behind the virtual closed walls of a course room. The typical LMS gets a bad rep on many campuses. For everything from being too complicated, too restrictive and too ugly. But from a blended perspective, what does a typical campus LMS get us? The LMS acts as a central jumping off point for all online activities, and a private place for conducting the business of our course.
