- [Instructor] All the pre-writing steps are complete from merely having an idea to researching to learn more about your idea and brainstorming, dropping and grouping and maybe adding as you continue to research to that final outline and the thesis for the entire paper and topic sentences for each paragraph idea. Now and only now are you ready to begin drafting. The difficult pre-writing steps are complete so you're ready to write the first draft, ready to present that research you've collected in that logically organized pattern you've developed. Here's our thesis and the outline. Let's write a portion of the body of the research paper. The ending and the introduction are each discussed in their own lessons. As we look at these sections, note the topic sentences, the transition, the types of support, and the difference between major and minor support.
