- [Narrator] APA, American Psychological Association. MLA, Modern Language Association. CMS, Chicago Manual of Style. Turabian. Just hearing those abbreviations and words sends some people into a panic attack. Are you one of those folks? (laughs) I certainly am, and I have to confess... That I still double-check when I'm citing sources. Am I positive that the Chicago Manual of Style, which is almost identical to the Turabian style, uses the month, day and year, in that order? As a citation format for dates. And that American Psychological Association uses year, month, day, in that order? And that the Modern Language Association uses day, month abbreviated, year, in that order? I'm usually 90% certain I'm correct, but also tell myself I'd better check, and I do.
