The demo project

- For this course, I've created a demo project to showcase the features in Camtasia 2019. Now, a quick disclaimer. This isn't my first ride in the Camtasia Rodeo, so don't feel like you need to match the complexity in your own projects. On the flip side of that, don't think this is the cap on what Camtasia can do. It's just an example of some possibilities. Wherever you're at in your development, know that there's always room to grow. All right, so I invite you to take a look at my demo project entitled 5Things and get an idea of where we're headed, what Camtasia can do, and maybe even get some ideas for projects of your own. I'm going to show you five techniques you can use to take advantage of Camtasia's production power and level up your next project. (logo whooshes) (upbeat music) Hey there, I'm Corbin. Whether you're creating instructional videos or social media marketing spots, you'll want to keep your viewers eyes and ears tuned in to your story. Let's check out a few production techniques you can use to pump up your project. If your viewers can't understand what you're saying, it's going to be tough for their ears to pick up what you're laying down. What? No matter what type of story you're telling, you'll want to get great audio. Don't shortcut this step. It's at least as important as your video quality if not more. Your laptop or phone mic work fine in a pinch, but are probably not the best option for a professional sound. There are numerous mic'ing solutions available for any project, and you don't need to spend a ton of mon. Desktop mics, headsets, and even lavalieres all start at very reasonable prices, and can plug right into your laptop or phone. If you need a little guru guidance locking down quality sound, check out the oodles of tutorials here in the learning library. Bullet points have their place, (bullet points pop) but let's face it. (bullet points whoosh) If you're just reading slide after slide of bulleted text, your viewers are likely to suffer severe cerebral collapse. Why not tell and show your story. You can use images, video clips, screen capture, and graphics. Now, unless your message is intended for an army of soulless robots intent on ending humanity as we know it, try a conversational tone of voice. Outline your talking points, and then, just talk. If you need a script, try writing in your regular speaking voice. Tell your story just like you would to a friend or coworker. If it fits in with your project, why not showcase your face? You don't have to be on camera for the entire video. Just a quick cameo can help you connect with your viewers, even if they do happen to be an army of soulless robots intent on ending humanity as we know it. Animate, animate, animate! Grab your audience by the eyeballs with drag-and-drop animations, transitions, and behaviors. So why not try out one or all five of these ideas and level up your next Camtasia creation.
