What do you need to make your video?

- One of the reasons I love using video is that there are so many elements that you can incorporate within your video project. It could be as simple as using your cellphone to record a video, but if you really want to make an impact and an impression, quality and content is key. I'm going to walk you through everything you need to make a compelling video that engages and retains your audience all the way through. You could tackle the process of completing your video project entirely on your own, but that's a quick way to experience overwhelm and stress. I understand this fully, because I've been there. I used to record a video using just my iPhone and a lamp with no lampshade, and take the entire day to film and edit. The good news is, there's a way to avoid this and complete your videos without feeling the weight on your shoulders. The truth is you're not good at everything. And that's okay. Instead of trying to do it all, I encourage you to stay in your zone of genius, and delegate the tasks to others within their zone of genius. This allows you to focus on what you're actually good at in the process of creating your videos. You'll benefit mentally, and your videos will too, because you've just leveled up the quality by bringing in other people who are the experts at what they do. So here's exactly what you need to get your videos done and completed without the guesswork in between. Scripting. Bringing in an experienced copywriter brings in a fresh set of eyes that can look at a script and make it more compelling based on the human psyche, tell an engaging story, or suggest things that you may not have thought about before. If you're creating this video for a company, it may even be necessary to have one run past their legal team for approval. This could take a bit of time, and you'll want to consider that beforehand. Once approved, your talent will need to stick to that verbatim, in order to be compliant. Scripting is an important step, as it's what you say that will matter the most for your audience. Videographer. It's easy to think that all you need to do to make a good video is just hit record. Until the moment you need to hit record. An experience videographer can direct you properly to where you need to up the energy or change the scenery, and encourage you throughout the process. A great videographer also keeps you efficient by coming in prepared with a schedule and a storyboard that includes filming appropriate B-roll that will ease the next step of the process. Editing. Having an editor who can tie it all together is like adding the best icing to an already amazing cake. A professional editor knows how to do everything that you may have just overlooked in the process like syncing the audio, finding the right music and tone of the video. Adding in animations and appropriate transitions with the right timing. Editors can also help you decide on using just the right amount of elements like a screen share or texts. They'll also help you with the delivery format of the final product depending on where this video will need to be shared. Depending on your video, you may not have to bring in an expert every time. Choose the essentials that you need so you can fee confident and empowered from the beginning, instead of overwhelmed.
