- [Instructor] When deciding on a learning management system to adopt, it's important to consider who the decision will impact. In other words, who will be involved with the LMS that you select. Let's take a quick look at who may be impacted. First is your IT department. You'll likely need people to help configure your LMS, maintain it, and help if there are technical issues. For this reason, it's important to include IT people in on the decision when deciding on an LMS. Some learning management systems will be web-based and easy to maintain, while others, such as Moodle, need to hosted on a server. Second is the system administrators or HR department. Many learning management systems are highly customizable, allowing you to turn certain features on and off, customize the look and layout of the platform to match your organization's brand or theme, or to pre-load information, such as courses, instructors, employees, or students to the platform and then to deploy that out.
