Sentence correction technique
- [Instructor] So, since it can be too easy to get caught up in reading a sentence correction question's choices, slowly sounding them all out in your head and burning a ton of time, we want to use a method for these questions that's a little more efficient. So let's go through a basic step-by-step method for sentence correction questions and talk about why it's useful then apply it to a typical question. Step one, read the original sentence and notice anything that is unclear, wordy, wrong or just weird. So unclear would be things like pronouns that don't have a clear noun they refer to. Something wordy would be something like redundant or repetitive. Something wrong might be an actual error in grammar like a plural subject with a singular verb. Something weird would just be something that sounds terrible to you or really awkward.
