Plan for the unexpected

- [Instructor] No matter how much time you spend planning the scope and sequence of your course, some issues are sure to arise. I've learned this first hand many times. Perhaps the learners didn't understand the concept that you were teaching causing a need for you to spend additional time re-enforcing it. Perhaps a current event comes up that you feel you should address within the context of the class. Or perhaps one of the learners is sick and misses several classes or training sessions. How will you deal with these situations while still making sure that you cover all the material that you're required to cover? When planning your instruction and developing your curriculum, I strongly suggest that you include extra time and build in some practical solutions for these issues. If your overall plan is too rigid, you'll likely run into problems and end up compromising the quality of your instruction.
