Discover how creating teams and an overall team structure is a great way to keep your organization's users organized and to quickly assign courses and learning paths to particular teams on the platform.
- [Instructor] We've taken a look at how to add users to our Litmos account. Now let's take a look at how to create teams. Creating teams is a great way to keep your users organized and can make the entire process of assigning courses, learning paths, feedback, and results much more efficient. I'm going to click on the Teams tab, which, for me, is on the left hand side, and this bring us to the Teams page. Now, as you can see here, we do not yet have any teams created. I can go up here to the subtabs and click on the Chart View, and, when I do that, you'll notice that we have one item here and it is KinetEco Incorporated.
So this is our overall organization, but we don't yet have a team structure. So the first thing that you should do is to create a team structure, and you can do this by adding in teams. I'm going to navigate back to the Teams subtab and, over here on the right, I'm going to click on Add a New Team. I'll title this Sales Team. Down below, you could leave a description if you want. And then I'm going to click on Add Team. Now, once I do this, it brings me to the Sales Team page and we do have subtabs here that we can check out courses available to them, learning paths, their course team library, learning path team library, as well as settings.
Now, we can also assign people to this team. So let's say here that I click on that. It will bring up a list of people that we can assign to the team. More importantly though, I want to show here how we can begin to create our organizational structure. And what we can do is to go over here, click on Options, and then go ahead and Add a New Team Under This Team. I'm going to click on that. And, here, I want to break up the sales team into the four different teams that we have, and that is the North team. I'll go over here on the right and then click Add Team & Then Another.
I'm going to add the South sales team. I'll add the East sales team, as well as the West sales team. I'll click Add Team and now we've added those teams underneath the overall sales team. So, now, when I navigate back to the Teams tab, and we're here, you can see these different teams. When I go up to the Chart View, you'll notice what's starting to happen. We're creating this team structure. So, overall, we have our KinetEco Incorporated, so this is our organization.
Below that, we have a Sales Team. And, underneath the Sales Team, we have the North, South, East, and West teams. I'm going to go back over to Teams and let's add a new team. We'll title this one Marketing. I'll add that team. And then I'm going to go to Options and Add a New Team Under This Team. So we'll say Amy's Team. Add and Then Add Another. Dave's Team. I'll click on Add Team.
Again, we'll go over here and I'll click back on Teams, go to the Chart View, and now you can see that, under our organization, we have the Sales Team and the Marketing Team, and, underneath these, we have the ways that they are broken down. Now, this will make it a lot easier for you to assign courses, say, to particular groups that need it. For instance, maybe you have compliance training that needs to get sent to everyone, and that's okay. But there might be times where there is a certain set of training that only needs to go to a marketing department, and, there, you can send that to the Marketing and everyone below that.
Maybe, perhaps you even need to send a specific training to a sales team, such as the North team, and that's it, and then it will be sent to them. So this is how you create teams inside of here. Once you have your teams, you're then able to start adding users and assigning them courses. We'll take a look at that in the next video.
