- Humans have a natural affinity for learning from stories. In fact, people tend to remember facts more accurately if they encounter those facts in a story rather than learning them from a bulleted list of items. Additionally, research has shown that individuals rate legal arguments as more convincing when built into a narrative rather than when based on legal precedent. Stories carry a great deal of weight when it comes to helping people learn. What a story does is that it sets the context for learning. A story gives actions and ideas meaning by framing them appropriately and meaningfully. A story can help explain why the learners are talking with a particular character, completing a desired form, or why the company's ethics policy is important to that individual.
