- [Instructor] There are hundreds of learning management systems available, in fact some estimates report that there are over 600 available to choose from. Most of these LMS's will provide similar features, however some will be tailored more towards academic use, while others are tailored more towards corporate use. When considering adopting an LMS to use, it's important to take this into consideration. Some of the areas in which an academic and corporate LMS may differ include the format and timelines. Academic courses are often semester or year-long endeavors including many different units or modules. On the other hand, corporate training is often shorter or more succinct and to the point. Different learning management systems will be structured to accommodate these needs. Another difference is evaluation and assessment.
