- [Instructor] So angles are some of the most common things to see tested in a GMAT geometry problem. Let's talk about some angle basics in terms of opposite angles, complementary angles, and right angles. So if we draw a couple of lines that intersect like that, notice that they form some angles. So, if we call this angle X degrees, this angle would be X degrees as well. If we call this angle Y degrees, this angle would be Y degrees as well. So the way that I like to explain that is like if they're on sort of opposite sides of the X like that, then they are the same angle. I also like to point out that X plus Y is going to total to 180 degrees. If you think about that, it's basically a semicircle, right? So all the angles sort of along a straight line like that are going to total to 180 degrees. Likewise, these two guys will also total to 180 degrees. So will these because they're along a line. And then all of these angles add up to what? 360, right? So a circle has 360 degrees. And…
