- Hi, I'm Oliver Schinkten and welcome to Teacher Tech Tips, a weekly series dedicated to finding tips, tools, and resources to help improve education. This week, I want to introduce you to Microsoft Office Online, which like Google Drive, now allows you to create, collaborate, and save your documents online. You are likely familiar with Microsoft Office's set of tools including Microsoft Word for word processing, Microsoft Excel for creating spreadsheets, and PowerPoint for creating presentations. Well, up until this point, if you wanted to use Microsoft Office, you had to purchase the Microsoft Office software and then have it downloaded on your computer and it wasn't cheap. In a school setting, this often caused problems related to digital access. If you created documents using Microsoft Word, for instance, and then emailed it to students, they couldn't access that unless they had Microsoft Office on their computer.
