Join Jake Ströh for an in-depth discussion in this video Working with the code window, part of Migrating from Flash to Edge Animate.
…Previously we've added code to an object which was the…SAMOCA logo, and we linked that to the SAMOCA website.…This is a workflow that many of us Flash…designers and developers once knew prior to Action Script 3.0.…Also in Flash, we are used to accessing and working with One Actions panel.…In Edge Animate we can access and work with…Java script code in snippets in a few different places.…Essentially, whatever object youre working on has the…ability to open an actions panel for that object.…Let's begin by opening, code window start.…And we're going to add a few more elements to the stage.…
I'm going to select the rectangle tool.…And I'm going to draw a style line underneath the SAMOCA logo.…I want the width of this style line to be 520 pixels and the height to be 4 pixels.…Let's center this on the stage.…Next, I'm going to change the background color.…So I'm going to change the hexadecimal value to 0090BC.…Now I would like to add a gradient to the background of the stage.…To do that, I'm going to select the stage and…
Jake Ströh explains how the web has evolved away from Flash, while pointing out key similarities and differences in Edge Animate that make migrating at times both smooth and challenging. He shows how to re-create a simple Flash banner ad inside of Edge Animate, walking through tasks that should be familiar to Flash developers, like keyframing parameters and working with symbols and nested timelines. Text, audio, and video work differently in Edge Animate, so Jake also spends time on those techniques. Then he'll work through the process of developing an interactive mobile prototype that accepts input from touch screens. When you're done, you should have the tools you need to migrate to Edge Animate and start building web projects that live up to modern standards.
