Join Chris Converse for an in-depth discussion in this video Creating a rule and a background, part of Creating an Animated Infographic with Edge Animate.
Next we're going to create a rule inside of Edge Animate.…So to do that let's come up and grab the Rectangle tool, on the Stage let's click and drag.…First thing we want to do in the Properties panel is make sure that the border is set to 0.…Let's come over here to the X property, we're going to position this. …Set 209 for the X and 109 for the Y. For the Width we will set this to 320. …For the Height let's set this to 1 pixel.…
If in click away we can see that we have now what looks like a 1 pixel rule, …but really this is a div with a height of 1; this is why we had to make sure that…the border was set to 0.…Now let's select the rule, let's come over to Color, for background color, …let's set this to white then hit Return.…Now with the rule in place, let's create a background box, Rectangle tool again,…let's click and drag.…Let's come over to our Properties, for the position of the X we're going to set…this to 25, 25 on the Y as well. The Width is going to be 555 pixels, 260 on the Height.…
