- [Narrator] Means of transport is a crucial concept in TM. I advise you to spend lots of time debating about the best definition of these. Think of it maybe as a mode, truck, or ocean, or container. And you can also build means of transports in a hierarchy. For example, I've done implementation where we have a means of transport called full truck load. With that full truck load consists of lower level means of hierarchy, dry van, refrigerated transport, flatbed. This has major implications for how you set up your transportation network. Most specifically, the definition of your lanes. So again this needs to be thought out very, very carefully to set up an efficient transportation network based on means of transports. So zone is geography, again, it's basically a grouping of locations. So simple view is that a zone can be any combination of a country or state, or range of postal codes, or simply individual locations.
