Learn how to manage different types of accounting journals

- [Instructor] Hi and welcome to the S/4 Finance General Journal Boot Camp plus Fiori. This boot camp is for accounting staff who are new to working with SAP S/4 HANA. Do you need to be productive in a new job role? No time for full or half day SAP courses? This course is designed to get you or your team up and running on SAP as end users in as little as 60 minutes. This course is broken down into five video lessons with live SAP demos and a quick reference guide at the end. Let's have a look at the content. In this 60 minute course you will learn how to enter and manage different types of accounting journals in SAP S/4 HANA using the new Fiori User Experience. This is the key difference between using the older generation of SAPgui versus the new Fiori user experience. Once you've learned how to enter different accounting journals and manage those journals, you'll also then learn how to review and audit posted documents and basic general ledger reporting and account balance reporting. So in terms of the overview in a bit more detail. What are the different scenarios that you'll learn? You'll learn how to post basic journals in the general ledger using the enter journal entry app. You'll then learn how to manage journal entries. In this case when we say manage you'll learn how to display, create, post, edit, and reverse journals, so multiple functions in terms of managing those journals. You'll also learn how to do a specialist journal or a recurring entry journal and again all the different functions creating, editing, listing, and posting those journals. And finally you'll learn how to do some basic reporting, how to run a financial statement, how to look at a general ledger account balance, and how to drill down to the line items finally. So in terms of S/4 HANA finance for those of you not as familiar, the main difference with S/4 HANA finance versus the regular older versions of SAP is this concept called the universal journal. This course doesn't go into the details of universal journal, but just so you're aware, these demos will cover using S/4 HANA general ledger, which uses the universal journal. Ledger specific journals and parallel valuation and some more advanced topics will be covered in a separate course. All the demos that you're going to see in this course all use the new Fiori user experience based on Fiori Apps or applications. So we'll have a look at what exactly is a Fiori App. So Fiori itself, it's the new SAP user experience. The intent here from SAP is instead of using the SAPgui which we've had for many years, the idea is to move to the Fiori user experience where you'll have light weight apps to do tasks. Tasks are tailored to user job roles and basically SAP transactions are not rolled up into these apps. The idea as well is to be able to do reporting and analytics using these apps and accessible on any device, so for instance a Fiori app can be accessible on IOS of Android phones, on your PC, or on a tablet, or on a Mac. If you want to learn more about Fiori itself, there's a web link that you can go to here from SAP's product portfolio. But basically this is what the demo is going to show you and why you're going to see a difference between the way you're maybe used to seeing SAP screens. So with that, let's kick into the first lesson.
