How the Optimizer works

How the Optimizer works

- So, optimizer is really complex. I am trying to boil this down into some simple terminology. But basically the optimizer, or the textbook definition is something that picks the lowest cost that complies with rules or constraints, so what do I mean? Let's say you have a hundred orders in your cockpit and you need to get them out the door and you've got maybe ten trucks you need to do, and that's pretty much going to max out the capacity of those ten trucks. Those orders and those ten trucks it is, maybe possible to have thousands of different possible combinations in arranging those orders on which truck going to which customer. Depending on many things, the dates that the customer wants the orders delivered, the relative cost of using each of those trucks or muse of transports, many many different factors. So, TM is going to try and put all of those factors into quantifiable costs and then, run iteration it may run through a hundred or even a thousand different iterations before it…
