Join Gini von Courter for an in-depth discussion in this video Dynamics 365 for Talent: The basics, part of Learning Dynamics Talent.
- [Instructor] Dynamics 365 is a relatively new set of products, but incredibly full-featured. The Dynamics 365 family already includes products like Dynamics 365 for Sales, Dynamics 365 for Marketing, and so on. All of these, of course, are cloud-based products. And Dynamics 365 for Talent is the latest addition to this family. Dynamics 365 for Talent focuses on human resources, in the same way that Dynamics 365 for Sales focuses on sales.
Dynamics for Talent helps you automate key tasks in the core areas of human resources, whether those be benefits, compensation, training, compliance, tracking of days off, or other areas of human resources. In addition to these core tasks, there are two modular apps included with Dynamics 365 for Talent, Attract and Onboard. The Attract App is a recruiting app.
It's made for managing your candidate pipeline and doing hiring, and it integrates with LinkedIn. So you have access to lots of candidates and the ability to create multiple candidate pipelines. The Onboard App does exactly what we would think it would do. It's an employee onboarding application, but it allows us to create customized employee onboarding plans, and to create resources for our employees, like a welcome guide or a list of materials that we would like them to be acquainted with, and the ability to connect them quickly to other employees so that they can build their network in the organization.
Attract and Onboard are the first two of these additional modules that allow subsets of your HR department, and even folks who work outside of HR to work with Dynamics 365 for Talent. There's a third module, Gauge, that is already in technical preview, and we will see more apps as we continue working with Dynamics. This course focuses not on the modular apps, Attract and Onboard and Gauge, but on Dynamics 365 for Talent, the core functionality of the applications for things like personnel management, compensation, and benefits.
If you do not yet have access to Dynamics for Talent, there is a free trial available. If you go to dynamics.microsoft.com, you will end up here. And if you choose Applications, Talent, and go, for example, to the Overview, there's a Start Free link right here that will allow you to begin with a trial of Dynamics for Talent. And I will be using the sample data for the Dynamics 365 for Talent trial in this course.
If you already have Dynamics 365 for Talent, then firing it up is a simple matter of logging in. When you are logged into your work account, you can go to the waffle and go to dynamics.com, that will take you to this page. I have several different Dynamics modules available, including Customer Service, Sales, I have some other apps, but if you scroll down, you will find Talent and the two modules. And notice that I'm taking the TestDrive.
If you'd like these to appear at the top, you can simply pin these, and items that are pinned, are pinned to the page right here at the top, which makes it easy if you intend to work along with me in the course, or if you are working in human resources. In the next movie, we'll jump into Dynamics for Talent and begin experiencing the Dynamics for Talent application.
