Use the Office 365 admin centers

- There are three and optionally four places that you will go to administer Dynamics 365 for customer engagement. Let's take a tour. If we go to Dynamics 365, and open one of the web applications which you should have access to as an admin, for example, sales. We'll see the web interface. Looks a little bit different, a little less modern. And this is the interface that we're using for the majority of the applications that we created before 2018. If I want to administer, and the administrative functions are here. I click settings, I click administration, and I have access to administrative settings. Most of the administration we do will not be done here, but some of it needs to be. This is the legacy Dynamics 365 administration center, or the web, or the Dynamics 365 web admin center. But if we return to Dynamics 365 home, where is the rest of the administration then? With our new UI apps, we're actually going to do most of our administration in two different places. Let's go to the admin center for Microsoft 365. You can also get here by entering admin.microsoft.com in your browser. We end up here. This is the administration center where we will manage users, where we'll manage billing, subscriptions, and so on. When I click all, I get a list that's a little bit longer and a list of admin centers. We don't see Dynamics here yet, but don't let that bother you. You can either click show more or click all admin centers. And now we see the admin center for Dynamics 365. If I click here, the Dynamics 365 admin center is where I'm going to manage my instances. It's where I'm going to manage updates, but even here, I'm being led a little further, because as you may recall, when we create a new instance in Dynamics 365, we're creating an environment that is used by the power platform. Therefore, I can manage my instances as power platform environments. If you click the try the new admin center link, you will end up at admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com with the list of environments, which are the list of Dynamics 365 instances. If we wish, we can manage our instances here. Note that this is a new admin center, and as of the time that I'm recording this course, it is still in preview. So we have four locations for administration in Dynamics 365. We will do much of our administration in the Microsoft 365 admin center, where we will manage users, billing, subscriptions, and so on. From there, we will move to the Dynamics 365 administration center, and I'll also show you a little bit about the power platform administration center. But there are still some features that cannot be managed in these newer administration centers. And for those, we will return to the Dynamics 365 admin center that is accessible through the web-based apps in Dynamics 365.
