- [Instructor] The first app we created was a canvas app based on our data in Dynamics 365. We can also create a canvas app based on the Common Data Service. The benefits of the Common Data Service are that not only do we have access to our Dynamics 365 data, but we also have access to other entities from the Common Data model. I could create a new app from the Common Data Service by starting with a blank. I could create a model driven app from the Common Data Service, but I'm going to do the same thing I did last time. I'm going to start here, starting with my data. I'm going to click create, and when I chose Dynamics as my data source, I was required to specify my Dynamics instance. With a Common Data source, there's really only one data source. So if I chose the phone layout for example with the Common Data source, immediately I go to chose a table. I don't need to chose what instance of Dynamics 365 I'm connecting to. And that is because there's only one Common Data source…
