Assign a security role to a user
- [Instructor] When we create a new user for Dynamics 365 for Customer Engagement, it's really a four-step process. We start by creating that new user in Microsoft 365 Admin, and giving them a license for one or more of the Dynamics 365 for Customer Engagement apps. At this point, that user is synchronized. Microsoft 365 has some specific pieces of information about that user. And that information is synchronized with Dynamics 365 for Customer Engagement. The Microsoft 365 user name becomes a user name in Dynamics 365. First name and last name fill in the full name field. Job title, title, and so on, so that this user exists because they are licensed. But then there are a couple of additional steps we have to take in Dynamics 365 for this user to be able to access data. First, we need to assign them to a business unit.
