- [Narrator] Well, your Drupal site won't look very good, until you get a theme. A theme is what takes Drupal's core output, and makes it look the way you want. Here's how a theme works in Drupal. Someone comes to your site and clicks on a link. Drupal says, oh, they want the content that's associated with this link out of the database, all the images, videos, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, and they want them at this page. In literally milliseconds, Drupal goes and grabs the content and begins to assemble the page. This is done through a series of PHP calls to the database, through core and contributed modules. Once Drupal assembles all of the content and layout from the database and configuration, it then generates a series of HTML.twig files or template files. It then passes that rendered output to your theme, that's comprised of a configuration file in a YAML format, HTML.twig override files, CSS JavaScript, and any…
