- Hi and welcome to the Drupal 9 Essential Training. My name's Rod Martin. I'm your trainer through this series. In this course we're covering layout. Now, layout sounds like a small topic. But it really isn't. So let's talk about what we're going to cover in this course. I'm going to introduce you to layouts in general. And then we're going to dive in to the four main components. We'll talk about managing the display with Drupal Core or what Drupal gives us right out of the box. There's not a lot there. But it's still important to cover. Then we'll talk about block management. Now, as you know by now, blocks are what appear all around the different areas of your sight that aren't content. So, the content area is generally in the middle. And you've got block regions all around it. In which you place blocks. We'll talk more about block placement and theming as we go. Next, we're going to talk about layout builder. And I can't tell you how excited I am about layout builder in Drupal 9. This gives site builders the ability to build beautiful landing pages without having to worry about theming. It allows you to rearrange fields in your content type. And we'll do exercises along those lines throughout this course. And finally views. I've never built a Drupal site without views. It's in Core as of Drupal 8 and now in Drupal 9. And it's an essential part of building out a Drupal website. So, layout. A big topic. An important topic. Let's dive in.
