- [Instructor] You might remember back in the very beginning we talked about the structure menu, and we actually created a block called Welcome to Drupalville. Well, this is blocks explained, and I want to talk to you a little bit about what blocks are. Blocks are an entity that can contain just about anything. Content like videos, text, images, and functionality like the search bar and the menus. Blocks are not content but they are placed in block regions around your site. So while your theme provides the blueprint for your website via block regions, blocks are actually like the furniture that you would move in once your house is built. So indeed, this is a block. This is a block. This is a block. This is a block. The content area is a block, and scrolling all the way to the bottom, we have several blocks that have been placed in the footer.
