- [Instructor] Many designers have a pathological hatred or fear of working with code. But editing in Dreamweaver's Code view is where you can be your most productive. That's particularly true of Dreamweaver CC 2017 because the coding environment has been completely rebuilt and is now based on Brackets, an open source project led by Adobe. One of the main productivity tools is the integration of Emmet, which allows you to generate an hmtl outline, and even dummy text, at lightning speed. Emmet is based on CSS selector syntax, so if you know your CSS Emmet is easy to pick up. I've opened a blank html page and inserted a blank line between the opening and closing body tags. I want to create a header element with an h one heading and a nav element containing five links nested inside. So, using Emmet and CSS syntax I begin with header.
