The art and science of handling images in a responsive design is thriving. In this chapter we'll explore a number of techniques you can use to make sure that your site visitors are getting the optimal images, meaning the highest quality at the lowest bandwidth cost. In this lesson we'll cover the basic CSS coding you should include. As we have discussed throughout the course, the layouts are percentage-based so that when users reduce or expand their Browser windows, the content areas resize accordingly. However, if images are handled the traditional way, they won't resize. They'll stay exactly the same width and height. Now for some graphics that's what you want, but for others, like photos in a gallery, you need some fluidity. Let me show you how you can achieve that. So I have opened here the profile.htm file from Chapter 5/05_01 folder.
