Join Joseph Lowery for an in-depth discussion in this video About the exercise files, part of Responsive Design with Dreamweaver CS6.
If you're a Premium Member of the lynda.com online training library, you have access to the exercise files used throughout this title. Naturally, the information in this course is ultimately intended to be applied to your own web pages. However, you may find it helpful to work with the supplied exercise files to practice the steps safely and without having to create your own examples. To begin using the files from the site, click on the exercise files tab, download the files, extract them, and put those files in a convenient location, such as your Desktop.
You'll find the exercise files organized by Chapter, and in every chapter it's broken down into the various Lessons that you'll see. Within each of these Chapters there are a series of files, typically assets, CSS Style Sheets, Images, and so forth, as well as a practice file or two to work on. In most files you'll also find a final folder, and that contains a file showing the completed lesson, which you can open up and take a look at and explore at your leisure. You can either follow the whole course, chapter by chapter, or jump in at any point.
All the assets you'll need for a particular lesson are found in the Chapter folder. If you're a monthly subscriber or annual subscriber to lynda.com, you don't have access to the exercise files, but you can definitely follow along with your own assets.
