- So, the challenge was to find a doorway or window in really strong light. And I wanted you to observe the shadow shapes and anything that was architecturally interesting. But most of all, think about the viewpoint and the angles, and how that will affect the perspective. So, the subject I've chosen to really capture that idea of an acute angle and getting really strong light is this window frame here, where you've got the light hitting the edge, which gives this lovely cast shadow of all the lead work into the window, and I've also got these angles coming in, giving me this angle into the corner of the window frame. So, I'm going to be using a bit of a mixed media approach for this study. I've got some water color paper that I'm going to be working on top of, and then using a combination of a permanent ink pen, so when I add water on top, it won't move at all, but then also using some water soluble inks so that I can start to get this lovely glow of color underneath that old…
