- Once again, we're staying in our 17_CetnerlinesSplines.dwg file, our 17_CetnerlinesSplines.dwg file, and what we're going to look at now is using a spline to represent the topography is using a spline to represent the topography around our ground floor plan. Now quite often contour lines are drawn using splines in DraftSight. using splines in DraftSight. A spline is basically an irregular curve measured out by control points, which are normally placed by clicks of the mouse. So what we're going to do, we're going to go to the layers panel here in the Home tab on the ribbon, and go to our Layers Manager first of all. We're going to create a new layer, and we're going to call it A-TOPO, and we're going to call it A-TOPO, TOPO, which stands for topography. TOPO, which stands for topography.
