Absolute coordinates
- [Instructor] We're starting another chapter now in our DraftSight essentials course and what we're going to look at is using the coordinates in DraftSight, so as you can see, the new drawing is called 11_UsingCoordinates.dwg at the top is the screen there. As usual, you can download this particular file from the website and use it to follow along with the videos in this chapter. Now, I've mentioned that we're looking at coordinates in our DraftSight drawing, so what we're going to look at is absolute coordinates. Now, what exactly are absolute coordinates? Well, absolute coordinates are the coordinates in DraftSight that basically refer back to the origin, where X and Y intersect at (0,0), so you'll notice down in the bottom left corner of your graphics area, there's a little icon there that tells you which way positive X and positive Y go and you can see that they intersect.
