(whooshing) - [Instructor] This is one of multiple videos discussing SDN, network programmability, network automation, overlays and related technologies. So, let's start with Cumulus Linux. Cumulus Linux is a product from Cumulus Networks. They allow you to run a supported version of Linux on bare metal switches or white box switches. Their hardware compatibility matrix lists a number of switches, so you could buy a switch from Dell as an example or you could buy a switch from Edgecore or you could use a Facebook switch or you could buy a switch from HPE or Mellanox or Penguin or QCT or Supermicro. In other words, there are a range of switches available from different vendors. Different hardware vendors have different strengths and different weaknesses. You may be buying your servers from Dell, so why not buy your switches from Dell? You may be buying your servers from HPE, so perhaps you wanna buy your switches from HPE.
