Learn about the reporting features and interface by creating a simple report.
- [Instructor] Now that you've seen…how the built-in reports work,…let's try creating a simple report.…You'll start off in the search tab.…When our Splunk server booted,…it generated an event that logged the bogomips,…which is a benchmark…for estimating the processing power of the machine.…Specifically, bogomips is the amount…of times a processor can do nothing within one second.…So let's type bogomips.…You can see it's already in there.…That's because Splunk has already indexed…and found that term.…
You can see the keyword bogomips isn't exactly…what we're looking for…because there's these alerts about delay calibration.…And that's not really helpful in this context.…So let's add something to our search.…I'll add the keyword not…and then delay…and hit enter.…Now we just have the bogomips results.…That's all we need to do for our basic report.…Go up to save as and select report.…We'll add a title, bogomips…and I'll just leave the description blank for now.…
And click save.…Now let's open up that reports tab…and take a look at the schedule.…
