There are several popular Java IDEs. Each of these IDEs work great for developing Java applications, and some even support other programming languages such as C++. Each of the popular IDEs have many similar features. They all can be used to create, compile, execute and debug source code. They can also be used to update existing source code files. As you will see, some are more ‘robust’ than others, so think about your programming needs when choosing an IDE. If you are a beginner, you might want to start with BlueJ or NetBeans.
