A day in the life of an architect: Morning

- Let's get a better idea of what a modern architect does by looking at the things that fill his or her days. We'll look at Frank Lloyd Left, an agile architect at Acme, Inc. Architect Frank is meeting with a fully cross-functional agile team to discuss the architectural patterns that'll be used in a new project. All of the skills necessary to bring the product from conception to delivery are in the room. There are businesspeople, product development people, developers, UI/UX designers, database experts, operations experts, everybody's there. These skills are not siloed. There is no UI/UX team doing its own up-front design, for example. Instead, every team has at least one person on it that has at least one of those skills, and every skill is represented on every team. The team works together. It collaborates to make an architecture. A system has to handle a large number of hits every hour, and has to be rock-solid reliable. It's critical that it be easy to update pieces of the system…
