- [Instructor] LinkedIn as a platform, doesn't do anything for you, you have to work it. I'm going to pick my own profile on LinkedIn and critique it. And you don't have to agree with everything I say, but I've tried to incorporate all the best practices here. I've also put together a checklist of what you should be thinking about when you put your LinkedIn profile together. I'm going to work my way right up from the top to the bottom. So I'm just going to select my profile. Now, one of the first things you want to do is to customize the URL for your profile. If you haven't done this before, it'll be your name followed by a long number. You can see that mine is linkedin.com/in/jonathan-fernandez followed by a long number. Now, the reason I want to change this is that if I get rid of that number, then I can share the link on business cards and email signatures and resumes.
