Learn how to plan and release software in a scrum development environment using Jira and plugins such as Portfolio and Bitbucket.
- [Robert] Hi there. My name is Robert Anthony, and this is Planning and Releasing Software with Jira. By now you should know Jira's efficiency and usefulness with process management, so now we will cover the basics of releasing software in a development environment. We will go over basic concepts of a Scrum environment and also how to plan and release software using the base Jira project while also touching on some more advanced concepts through some of the available Jira plugins. This video will deal with releasing through Jira in an Agile environment while using the concepts of continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment.
I've been using the Atlassian suite since 2009, and I'm excited to show you how this software works. By the end of this video, you should gain a better competency in board customizations, release management, and versioning. You should also be able to understand a basic development cycle and how you can accentuate these processes with available Atlassian add-ons. By having a better understanding of the functionality in Jira, you will be a more successful project or system administrator, and your abilities will make for a better experience for your users. All right, let's get started.
- Creating new Jira boards
- Creating cross-project release plans in Portfolio
- Managing Portfolio dependencies
- Configuring Bitbucket for code management and version control
