Test planning
- [Instructor] When you're exploratory testing, you aren't creating testing scripts. And so you don't need to do any test planning, right? I mean, test planning is just the process of planning what you're going to test, and an exploratory testing we don't know what's going to happen in our testing session, so we don't really need to plan do we? well, not so fast. There's actually a lot of value to be found in planning during exploratory testing. I think the Dwight Eisenhower quote holds true here. He said that, "In preparing for battle, I've always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable." The point of planning in exploratory testing isn't so much that you have a plan at the end of it that you'll exactly follow. But the point is that the process of figuring out the test plan is itself very helpful. So how exactly does one plan and exploratory testing? Well, as with most things there, isn't just one…
