Rational Unified Process: Life cycle

- [Instructor] This is an example of Rational Unified Process life cycle for software development. In our example, there is just one iteration in the inception phase which results in the achievement of the life cycle objectives milestone. Two iterations in the elaboration phase results in baselining the system architecture, or the life cycle architecture milestone is achieved at the end of this phase. Three iterations in the construction phase make the software product ready for end users, and so the initial operational capability milestone is achieved. Finally, two iterations in the transition phase makes the software optimized for production, and the production release milestone is achieved at the end of this phase. Please note that the number of iterations and the duration of iterations in a RUP cycle may vary from project to project.
