- [Instructor] Often overlooked, process loopholes in the code review process are another really frustrating issue that developers can't stand. Sometimes direct, most of the time indirect, these loopholes sow a large amount of distrust in the process altogether. What are those loopholes, you ask? Well, let's start with an unfortunately popular one, and that's bias. You witness bias loopholes when buddies ask each other to review their pull requests, hoping for a more lenient review, or worse, a guaranteed approval, or when the whole team only asks one person to review the PRs coming in. You feel the tension when the rockstar 10X engineer always has their pull requests approved, while other colleagues' code may be intensely scrutinized, or maybe you actually believe that you have a colleague who is an excellent developer, and approve their pull requests without really giving it a proper review.
