- One of the other big challenges a lot of people face is managing the difference between outputs and outcomes. For most people, they've only worked in organizations where outputs have been the measure of success. Are we on time? Are we on budget? Are we on scope? But outcomes are deeper than that. They're focused on what we're trying to achieve. How could we improve customer engagement by 10%? Being very specific about the thing we're trying to move and qualitative and quantitative number about how we're going to try and move it. That way, people could decide a multitude of options to try and achieve that outcome. And if we can do that in the simplest, quickest, fastest, and cheapest way, even better. Just because someone came up with a plan and a list of lots of requirements, success shouldn't be just completing that task list.
