- Now that you've had an introduction to extreme programming, here's what I recommend you do next. Practice a lot. Practice skills like pair programming, TDD, and refactoring all the time, until they become muscle memory, until you don't have to think about them anymore. They're just the way you work. Read Kent Beck's book, Extreme Programming Explained: Embrace Change. Kent created XP and his book is the canonical guide to everything about it. Read the WikiWikiWeb entries about Extreme Programming. The XP Wiki pages include entries from Kent Beck, from Ron Jeffries, and other Agile-ators who helped create and spread the ideas of extreme programming. Take these other Agile software development courses on LinkedIn Learning, my course on refactoring, which covers both refactoring and TDD, Lynn Langit's courses on pair programming and mod programming, and continuous delivery, and Scott Ford's course on code quality.
