Learning through postmortems

- DevOps is about developers and operations working together to deliver software at high speed to your users. But no matter how good you are and how well you code and test, things break. You hurry to fix these incidents when they happen, but how do you use these experiences to improve over time? Postmortems are how we investigate the scene afterward to find out what went wrong, and use that to learn and improve. I'm Ernest Muller, incident detective. I'm also head of engineering operations at Precision Autonomy, where I work with a team running online services supporting owners and operators of drones and other autonomous vehicles. In this course, I will help you prepare, practice, and perfect your incident investigation skills so that you can help your organization perform effective postmortems. It can be a tricky process, because after a messy incident it's easy to mistake what really happened or just pin it on someone and move on. Join me in my LinkedIn Learning course as we explore incident postmortems the DevOps way.
