- [Instructor] When it comes to getting updates on the latest devops news, email and social outlets like Facebook and Twitter are just as popular as ever. But I do find that these methods can lose their effect over time. There's very little signal compared to the noise in these mediums. Emails come by the dozens and ended up going unread and social media messages tend to get overlooked when they're mixed in with updates from other sources. On the other hand, blogs remain a tried and true medium for getting the latest news on all kinds of topics. I find RSS feeds are the easiest way to follow blogs. I connect the blog feed to my chat client so when anything new gets posted, I get an update right where I'm most active. On top of that, I keep the messages sorted into a channel specifically for blog updates. That way, conversations in other channels aren't disrupted and I can scan the blog channel at my leisure.
