Graduation year

- Generally, you shouldn't include your graduation year on your resume. Although U.S. federal law prohibits discrimination for candidates above 40 years old, including your graduation year on your resume can lead to unconscious bias and discrimination due to ageism. But including your graduation date can also hinder a younger candidate's chances of obtaining a job interview. Some employers may be hesitant about hiring a younger candidate for fear that they won't remain at the company for a long time. The year in which you graduated high school, college, or a boot camp is irrelevant to your qualifications for a job and should be omitted from your resume.
